The Problem of Muhammad’s Morality: If He’s the Model, Then God Is Broken

You Can’t Call Someone a Prophet and Excuse Everything He Did

🧭 Introduction: Islam’s Greatest Theological Gamble

The Qur’an says:

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example to follow...”Surah 33:21

Muslims claim:

Muhammad was sinless, merciful, and the greatest moral man who ever lived.

But history — even Islamic history — shows:

A man who married children, executed critics, owned slaves, took war booty, and used “revelation” for personal benefit.

And that raises the fatal question:

πŸ“Œ If this is what God’s model looks like…
Then what kind of God are we dealing with?

πŸ“‰ 1. Child Marriage — Aisha at Age 6

  • Sahih Bukhari 5133: “The Prophet married me when I was six and consummated the marriage when I was nine.” – Aisha

  • This is not disputed in Sunni hadith.

  • Muhammad was 50+ years old.

🎯 Moral Verdict: Today, this would be called pedophilia — not prophecy.

πŸ—‘ 2. Execution of Critics and Poets

  • Asma bint Marwan – A poetess who criticized Muhammad. She was assassinated in her sleep (Ibn Ishaq 674).

  • Abu Afak – An elderly man who criticized Islam. Executed on Muhammad’s approval.

🎯 Moral Verdict: A prophet of God doesn’t silence opposition with murder.

πŸ’° 3. War Booty and Personal Gain

  • Surah 8:41“Know that whatever of war booty that you may gain, verily one-fifth is for Allah and the Messenger…”

  • Muhammad took personal portions of wealth, slaves, and land from his raids.

  • In Khaybar, he took Safiyya as a captive bride after her husband was killed.

🎯 Moral Verdict: If this is divine reward — then morality is just conquest with a halo.

πŸ› 4. Sex with Slave Women

  • Surah 4:24“Those your right hands possess…” allows sex with female captives.

  • Muhammad had multiple concubines, including Maria the Copt.

  • Bukhari and Muslim confirm it — and the Qur’an legalizes it.

🎯 Moral Verdict: Slavery is bad enough — but turning captives into sex objects? That’s not prophetic.

πŸ’” 5. The Zaynab Incident — Taking His Adopted Son’s Wife

  • Surah 33:37 was “revealed” after Muhammad saw Zaynab, his adopted son’s wife, and desired her.

  • She divorced Zayd — and Muhammad married her.

  • The Qur’an conveniently abolishes adoption rules to justify it.

🎯 Moral Verdict: This isn’t holy — it’s opportunistic revelation to satisfy lust.

πŸ’¬ 6. No Mercy for Apostates or Critics

  • Hadith: “Whoever changes his religion, kill him.”Sahih Bukhari 6922

  • Blasphemy punishable by death — not reform, dialogue, or grace.

🎯 Moral Verdict: A man who kills apostates is not a model — he’s a tyrant.

πŸ“œ 7. Muhammad’s “Special Rules”

  • Surah 33:50 – Gives Muhammad exclusive privileges:

“…a privilege for you only, not for the rest of the believers.”

  • More wives. More sexual freedom. More power.

🎯 Moral Verdict: A prophet with special rules is not setting an example — he’s rewriting the standard.

🧠 Logical Implication

Islam says:

“If Muhammad did it, it’s good — because he was chosen by Allah.”

But reality shows:

If Muhammad is the standard, then God's morality is self-serving, tribal, violent, and sexually exploitative.

And that leads to a crushing conclusion:

πŸ“Œ If God is morally perfect — then Muhammad cannot be His messenger.

πŸ”₯ Mic-Drop Closer

“Muhammad didn’t point people to God’s character —
He pointed people to his own desires.

He used revelation to silence enemies.
He used warfare to enrich himself.
He used religion to indulge himself.

If this is the man Islam says is the perfect model —
Then it’s not just the man that’s flawed.

It’s the God who chose him.

No man like this could represent a just God. πŸ“›⚖️πŸ’€
